Functional assessment is critical to the successful development of treatment plans as well as documentation of patient progress. This course presents the participant with the most current, research-based, reliable and useful functional tools in physical and occupational therapy practice. Case studies and video of therapists working with patients are utilized to illustrate the appropriate application of functional assessment. Clinical decision-making regarding which tools to use in specific situations and how to make use of the results of functional measurement are integrated throughout.

    1. Utilize a function-based evaluation approach for older adults with various pathologies and impairments within all settings.

    3. Objectively document function and responsiveness to intervention.
