You’ll get the nuts and bolts of how to effectively use telehealth and it will provide answers to your questions about payment and technical considerations.  However, the majority of the course consists of watching one of the Nation’s leading telehealth experts, who has worked full-time in telehealth since 2017, work with real patients ages 26-78. You’ll see patient examinations and interventions delivered remotely encompassing man of the top diagnoses seen by physical therapists (neck, shoulder, and knee pain) as well as a lower extremity injury. In addition, Dr. Carole Lewis asks questions and provides insights as Dr. Norwood shares his expertise.

Patient Demonstration (180 min)

  • Telehealth examination and intervention of patient with neck and shoulder pain – includes debrief and commentary
  • Telehealth examination and intervention of patient with lower extremity injury – includes debrief and commentary
  • Telehealth examination and intervention of patient with knee pain – includes debrief and commentary

  1. Describe regulatory environment for practicing Telehealth PT (and where to find up to date information pertaining to their practice)
  2. Apply evidence-based PT practices in a Telehealth setting
  3. Explain the differences between conducting an in-person PT visit and Telehealth PT visit as it pertains to evaluation and treatment approaches
  4. Demonstrate how to adapt objective measurements from the clinic to a telehealth environment
  5. Explain the application of common treatment procedures in the telehealth setting and justify the absence of manual therapy and modalities

Upon completion of the course, a certificate of completion for 5 contact hours of educational credit will be awarded.
