Dr. Susan Musicant, PT, DPT, GCS has been working in physical therapy geriatric care for most of her career. She worked for 20 years in a PACE (program of all-inclusive care for elders) in Northern California, Bay Area: Center for Elders Independence. Since 2018, she has continued working part-time in a community-based non-profit dedicated to helping elders remain living independently in the community and out of nursing homes: DayBreak Adult Care Alameda County, California. She is committed to working collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multicultural diversity settings. She believes much work needs to be done by physical therapists to support these efforts in the community —- and to support families caring for older adults and the individual older adult themselves.
She is currently living in Hawaii, though still working for Bay Area non-profit: DayBreak Adult Care. https://www.daybreakac.org/ She is their Injury Prevention Coordinator. She administers their supporting low-income older adults living in their county needing DME and home grant modification. She runs a 3 time per seek virtual exercise group: GYZO (for short). She is part of the production of a weekly newsletter and monthly webinar for family caregivers of older adults.
