Unique Neurological Exercises To Improve Gait, Balance & Proprioception

October 26, 2024 - 12:00pm-3:00pm EST

Mark Traffas brings treatments for Gait, Balance and Proprioception alive. His enthusiasm and extensive clinical application of the very latest evidence-based information will amaze and keep you riveted to the screen.  When patients think about rehab, they think about gait and balance.  Rehabilitation practitioners are the undisputed subject matter experts when it comes to gait and balance.   So, keeping current with the latest research is vital if we want to keep our rightful place atop the rehab food chain.   Walking 150’ with a FWW is so last century.  We need to know how to provide high intensity gait training to our older patients that have difficulty with mobility.    Inactivity and protective behaviors are disastrous for the older adult as they develop and deal with co-morbidities that result in declining balance and muscle strength.  Rehabilitation practitioners are in the primary position to intervene and guide these patients toward effective and safe exercise recommendations.  This course provides a summary of evidence-based strategies including both high and low intensity exercise that have been proven to be effective through research.   A number of recently published research articles papers will be discussed to provide guidance on the type of exercise that is most effective for improving gait, balance and proprioception.   Discover how treatments ranging from one repetition strength training to Tai Chi can benefit body awareness, alignment and control.   You will come away from the course with the best exercises to include in your patient’s exercise program at their next treatment session!
