This evidenced based course describes the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system and various disorders commonly seen in vestibular dysfunction.  Treatment options for each disorder, as well as, expected outcomes are thoroughly addressed.  Demonstration video of assessing for vestibular disorders and interpreting findings are included along with treatment options for each disorder.  Case studies are presented along with a question / answer series of most commonly asked questions.  At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to perform a vestibular assessment and provide treatment as appropriate.

  1. Describe basic vestibular system anatomy and physiology.
  2. Accurately perform a comprehensive subjective and objective assessment and demonstrate the ability to interpret findings in order to formulate an appropriate treatment plan.
  3. Perform standard and modified treatments for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
  4. Understand signs and symptoms and select appropriate treatment options for patients with vestibular loss.

Upon completion of the course, a certificate of completion for 5 contact hours of educational credit will be awarded.
