Amy Muncy, PT, DPT, NCS, received her Bachelor of Physical Therapy in 1997 from the University of South Alabama and her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2011 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Amy received her certificate of competency in vestibular rehabilitation in 2000, certificate of competency in advances in vestibular rehabilitation in 2009, and certificate of competency in pediatric vestibular rehabilitation in 2012. Amy presented poster and platform presentations at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting in 2012 and 2013. She has instructed continuing education courses in vestibular rehabilitation throughout the country, served as a consultant for the vestibular portion of a PT neuro-residency program, contracted as a clinical education consultant for an international balance equipment company, and currently serves annually as a guest lecturer for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Belmont University. She has worked in outpatient rehabilitation centers in Florida and Tennessee, as well as her current position in acute care and outpatient rehab in South Carolina, all specializing in vestibular rehabilitation and falls risk assessment. She is currently employed at Pelham Medical Center in Greer, South Carolina where she is initiating a vestibular rehab program that focuses on continuum of care from acute care intervention through chronic vestibular conditions in the outpatient setting. Amy focuses on the utilization of evidenced based research to provide patient intervention and to train staff.
