Back Talk

Community Education on Back Pain Prevention and Treatment

20 million older adults have back pain yet a small percentage knows about the benefits of seeing a physical therapist first for their back pain. A powerful way to educate the public and physicians about the effectiveness of physical therapy for treating older adults for back pain is to go to community groups and offices and give a succinct but effective talk. This course will teach you and show you how to do this. The first half of the course is a detailed explanation of how to give an effective educational talk. The second part is Dr. Carole Lewis doing the talk with a question and answer session after the talk. You can also download the PowerPoint slides and individualize them to you so that you can use them for your own talks on Back Pain and the effectiveness of physical therapy.
