Resources for Maximizing Care in Home Health and Skilled Nursing Facilities

December 7, 2024 - 12:00pm-3:00pm EST

You are not the only one that ends a workday thinking “If I only had more time with my patients…” We all struggle to balance the planning and care for our patient’s success, maximizing our knowledge and skills with the time given, making the environment optimal and utilizing the appropriate resources/equipment for carryover that will serve our patients and their families, our coworkers and facility staff to the best of our ability.

The old saying of “do more with less” seems to be dominant in healthcare now…less time, less visits, less equipment, less staff, less, less, less. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a helpful course that would provide us with the tools that would allow us the ability to maximize our time while not compromising on quality care?  Corey Colbert, MS, OTR/L, FSOAE, GTCCS will guide you through ideas, give resources and discuss evidence-based interventions that will equip therapists to “do more with less.”

  • Resources – 20 minutes

  2. Defend the purpose of each measurement for better patient and caregiver understanding and carryover in simple terms.
  3. Choose techniques to encourage better communication and motivate participation between therapist, patient, caregivers and assistants.
