Richard DonTigny is a clinician with 38 years of clinical experience, most of which has been devoted to the treatment of low back/SI joint pain. He has been conducting research into the cause of low back pain and its relationship to the sacroiliac joint for over 30 years. He has published over 30 articles, has chapters in four texts and has presented at many local, national and international meetings.He served as the President of the Montana Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. He was an invited book and manuscript reviewer and abstractor for Physical Therapy, Spine, and the Journal of Manual & Manipulative Therapy. He was also appointed as a subject matter expert on low back pain to the Orthopedic Specialty Council of the APTA. He served as Chairman of the Montana Board of Physical Therapy Examiners and Faculty of the First Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back Pain and the SIJ, and Advisory board member of the World Congress on Low Back Pain and the Pelvis. Finally, he served as an associate editor of the Journal of Manual & Manipulative Therapy.
